After leaving the scene, Yuki went into the next path in her search for the culprit. As she only found more people like the the one a few minutes ago, she did not repeat that whole thing each time and just turned around again. If anyone followed her, she did it quick and painless, not out of mercy but because she was in a hurry. She eventually arrived at a door leading into a building underground. Having checked everywhere else, she decided to go down and look around. On the side was a man, that looked like a bodyguard, unconsciously leaned against the wall. Yuki chose to ignore him.
Behind the door was a… Bar? It was dark and the atmosphere was sketchy, ominous even. It seemed this was some sort of criminal hideout, so her chances of finding a thief were quite high here. And sure enough, in a dark corner of the room, there was the little hooded person sitting infront of a taller person. A man in his fourties maybe, wearing a coat and lether cloves slicked back hair. What a cliche mafioso, she thought. Though it didn't matter anyway since she was about to kill everyone in this room. But then she realized that the hooded person didn't have the bag… No bag? That was the most important thing! But she figured with torture they would tell her where it was, before she killed them of course. She just grabbed a chair and sat next to the two, the man looking her up and down while the hooded person pulled down their hood even further.
"Ahem… So, where is it?"
"I think you got the wrong person miss… If you know what's good for you-"
She lifted her finger into the air, which confused the man at first, but not for long simce she proceeded to point it at him and in the next moment his head was hit by an invisible projectile that pierced right through his head in an instant, killing him on the spot. He remained sitting with his head leaned back against the wall, which left Yuki unbothered as she crossed her fingers behing her chin and turned to the hooded person.
"Mhm~? Do you not know where it is either?"
"N-no! I know… Uh… What you're looking for! Don't hurt me! Please…"
The voice sounded no older than ten. A boy, nervous and scared, still comprehending what just happened to, if Yuki had to guess, his boss.
"So it is a child… I wonder if master would approve…"
"That's great. So you were hired to rob my school? Did this guy hire you? I'm gonna assume yes. Normally I would've killed you too, know. But I let out my frustration on a bunching bag I found in some alley earlier already… Which is why I'm willing to let this go, if you just hand over what you stole from me right this instant. Can you do that?"
"M-my sister was the one who carried the bag… She should be back any second now! You just have to wait!"
"That's okay. I will wait. In the meantime, do you want to hear about 37 ways to brutally torture and kill a person of all sizes and ages~? Judging from your reaction not… What is your name?"
"A-Andrew… We were forced to do this! Please don't hurt us, miss! We needed the money and-"
"Cut the crap or I snap your neck right now."
"…W-what?"
"You heard me. From what I understand, I only need your sister. I could kill you right now, wait for her and kill her too. So if you don't drop the act, I will do just that."
"…Fine. That guy you killed said he had a job for us. But I would've never accepted if I had known what it would get us in…"
"Smart boy. Now, don't you know that it is polite to thank someone when they go out of their way to do something nice for you?"
"You not killing me? Gee, thanks."
"You're such a brat. Maybe I will kill you anyways. Do you have any other talents besides being obnoxious?"
"I'm a fast learner. I can pick any lock, and like my sister control the way we move in the air."
"Pft, the way you move in the air? From what I could tell, she changes gravity for herself. I can pick locks too, and learn probably a lot faster than you. Anything else?"
"Fuck you. At least I don't look like some slut!"
"Excuse me, that is an official uniform!"
"Looks intentionally tight around the chest… You must crave attention."
"…If I had to guess then you are either trying to impress me with bravery since I downplayed anything else you were proud of before, or have a death wish."
"I'm not playing brave! I am brave. I'm scared of nothing!"
"Hm… You did switch pretty quickly into innocent and scared child after I offed your boss without flinching. But who is to say you weren't shitting your pants while you did that?"
"Like I said, you don't scare me."
"I'm bored. When does your sister come? How is it I arrived before her anyway? If she's not here in… Dunno, 30 seconds I break your leg."
"That's not enough time at all! And if you were following her, she probably changed routes to confuse you!"
"Failed in doing that then, no?"
"I'm sure she did her best. Besides, you didn't catch her, did you?"
"…"
"This little…Urgh, I hate children. Unless they are master and mine's. As long as master's attention stays on me, of course."
She tapped annoyed against the table, wishing to be with Yamato instead of sitting with this brat whose name she had already forgotten again, then pointed her finger at his leg.
"Alright, times up, Tommy."
"Andrew!"
"Whatever."
Then, just in time, much to Andrew's fortune, his sister entered the door together with… Yamato?! Holding hands?! She wore the same clothes as Andrew, and was the same height and age too. Twins, it seemed.
"Master?! What are you doing with that war criminal!"
"You can't just define things as war crimes and have everyone who breaks your imaginary rules be a war criminal…"
"I see, Yuki and Lily's brother met already and they don't seem to get along… She probably wants me to, or at least allow her to, kill those children now… I don't want to, but logically it would be the best just so Yuki doesn't realize that I don't actually want to… I'm sure in her mind me not wanting to kill children means I have a weakness or something for them, which will get her all jealous… So either this one or everyone we will ever come across… She didn't seem to mind the idea of children dying at all... I guess it doesn't make me sad either. But don't they have similar eyes, the children and Yuki, I mean? Mine were never like that… Or not that I can remember. So playful and shiny… Without a care in the world… Sounds like both most children and Yuki to me. Though I'm sure Yuki could pretend to care if she wanted to. Or rather had to. If I told her to, there would probably be no problems. She understands that following my instructions is the safest way to act. Though she does manage to do things on her own, as the whole Jessica situation proved to me. I should give her more credit for that actually… Come to think of it, why not let her do the thinking part, and just relax? I'm sure she would manage… Though, what would her goal in thinking even be? Wouldn't it just be locking me up with her and being together forever where it's just us in like some… Dual-solitude? Funny word… I doubt it exists. It just seems to describe it so well though. Ah, I'm getting off topic. What to do with the child… Lily I already have under control, it's just Andrew that doesn't seem to work with Yuki in the long run… And it's hard to say how Lily will react if something ends up happening to him…"
"Hey! Theft, breaking and entering are not imaginary rules I made up!"
"Neither are they war crimes."
"So! Why are you with her? How are you with her?"
Andrew suddenly jumped up and grabbed his sisters arm, using Yamato and Yuki's conversation as distraction.
"Now, Lily, run!"
"No!"
She pulled him back, hiding behind Yamato, which for some reason really made Yuki want to kill her. She also wanted to kill Andrew now for trying to run away. But most of all, she wanted to know what was going on.
"What?! We could've gotten out of here already by now! But it's too late now!"
"He helped me and promised to help me more! Help us! This is our chance for a better life, Andrew! Now shut up and sit down again."
"But-!"
"I don't wanna hear another word!"
"…Yes…"
"That's a word! Just sit down!"
"…"
And so he did, walking back to his seat in embarrassment. This whole commotion did not seem to bother anyone else in the bar, so they just sat down together as if nothing happened. First in silence, then followed by Yuki demanding an explanation.
"Alright, so you two know each other somehow. What about my necklace!"
"It turned out favorable in the end, so you should calm down if you want an explanation."
Yamato handed Yuki the necklace, which instantly improved her mood. Maybe it wasn't all bad.
"Okay, Master… I'm listening."
"Wow, you're like a pet."
"Andrew!"
"Sorry…"
Some would see a connection.
"Well, anyway… As I went to my room, I found her hiding there, since the school shut down while she was still busy finding anything valuable in my dorm. After that I watched your pursuit of her and was able to assume the general location you would end up at. The fact that I caught her before you did means that you were distracted with something else, I'm not sure if I want to know what that was…"
"I poisoned and killed a thug that was hitting on me while trying to rob me! He should be bleeding to death right about now! Or he's already dead… Who knows!"
"Ah… Good to know, I guess… Well, I was able to persuade her to come with me after catching her in front of the entrance door. Though the security guard probably worked for the guy I'm assuming hired the two, and is now sitting dead next to us… So I had to neutralize him, and Lily and I went for a walk."
"A-a… A walk… Without me…? Haha… Another girl…"
"She's ten, Yuki. Get a grip."
"You should get a grip on me!"
"Wow, you are desperate!"
Andrew couldn't stop himself from commenting that, which got him a glare from both Lily and Yuki, who both seemed as though they could strangle him right now. However Yuki was probably the only one who would go through with it.
"Well, whatever. Lily is actually very skilled in magic, as you have seen yourself. And I am not going to waste that talent. About Andrew…"
"What about me, you sister thief!"
"I'm not sure about your talents. We will just have to see."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I think I can get Lily into our school."
""What?!""
Both Yuki and Andrew yelled in sync.
"Well, under special circumstances, there have technically just opened up three spots in class 1, so I am optimistic about it. I'm sure she can qualify, however I'm not so sure about you, Andrew. That's what I meant by that."
"Who do you think you are, with your scary eyes and condescending tone! I told this girl here already and I'll tell you too! I ain't scared of you or anything!"
Yuki almost snapped at that, but took a deep breath. Imagining rolling on grass with Yamato under a rainbow during a picnic, getting closer and closer, before finally-… And, already calmer. She still felt the need to threaten him though.
"Watch it, Timmy… I let it slide earlier, and I will now, but I promise you I won't ever again…"
"Andrew, I told you to stop! Yamato warned me about it and that I should warn you too, but you just won't listen! I will get out of here, with or without you, you understand?!"
"Yes… I'm sorry."
