Yamato and Yuki left the restaurant after finishing their meals and paying with what Elara gave Yuki, there was still more than 85% of it left, however considering that it was enough for a nice house and they only ate at a restaurant it became apparent just how expensive what they just ate was.
On their way back, Yuki seemed satisfied with how they spent the day, though it would be far from over.
Arriving at the school gates, there was visible commotion. Many students were yelling at gurds and teachers, who tried to calm them down with little success. Away from all the noise, at the outside of the gate, was the guard that initially let them out. They decided to go ask him about what was going on.
"Excuse me, Sir? Do you know why everyone is so upset? Is it because they aren't allowed to leave?"
As Yuki asked, the guard remembered the two from earlier, as barely any had asked to leave school grounds besides them.
"Ah, you two. No, that's not it. Everyone was taking the lockdown quite well and understandingly. The reason they are upset is because it appears as though someone from the outside has entered school grounds, broke into the dorms of as many students as possible, and took whatever they could get. Current theory is that some criminals mistook the higher security for a sign of something valuable being brought into the school, and as that turned out incorrect, they just broke into the dorms since they were already in. Usually the school is prepared for cases such as these since most, nearly all of its students are from the upper class. However the newest incident, which I cannot disclose further, seemed to have allowed for some leaks in our security, as our main focus lied in keeping everyone inside."
"I see… Well, may we enter then?"
"Of course. I also wouldn't worry, some theories are that it was another student. Though that seems unlikely since the culprit appears to have left school grounds already. You two did leave and come back at convenient times… But if you two can give information about where you were, there shouldn't be a problem for either of you."
"That's good to know, thank you."
After recentering the school, Yamato and Yuki went stowards the dorm rooms first, checking if they were also robbed.
"Master, we should split up to our own rooms to search as efficiently as possible!"
"I was about to say that. You cleaned the blood from my room, right?"
"Yes! It is no longer contaminated, and now cleaner than ever thanks to me!"
"Alright, we meet up here again when we are done."
"Okay!"
As they split, Yamato wondered about Jessica's room. If the culprit had entered there, how would they react? They most likely only entered the rooms that were empty, which were probably a lot since most were either studying together, or just together in one room, instead of being spread in their own rooms. It was therefore very likely both Yamato and Yuki were affected.
As he entered his room, everything seemed just as it was supposed to. He didn't have much valuables in the first place, so it would have surprised him if anything was actually missing. It did seem odd that it didn't look searched. So if it was, they put everything back as it was. Meaning they wanted as much time as possible before being detected by the school, which of course made sense. However it felt odd nonetheless. He was about to go back to meet up with Yuki, when he got the feeling that he was being watched. As he looked out the window, there was nothing. He even opened it to look up and down the wall, just in case anyone was climbing there or something, which of course was unlikely but Yamato had to look. When there was nothing there either, he thought about just ignoring it and moving on, but then he look under his bed. And to his surprise, a small, hooded figure could barely be seen behind a full bag, most likely filled with valuables. Once they realized that they had been noticed, they rolled out and kicked Yamato against the stomach, faster than even he could react. Yamato stuback slightly, but didn't fall over as the figure proceeded to jump out the still open window and pull themselves up the building in an instant.
Meanwhile Yuki…
"Argh, where is it?! Fuck that filthy thief, I will kill them!"
She yelled as she ripped out and threw a shelf out of her closet against the wall. Unlike Yamato, she seemed to have been robbed of something valuable. The necklace, her first and only material gift from Yamato. A to her priceless object that she had stored in the middle of a few stacked school uniforms, not thinking anyone would look there. Though just in case she copied professor Reeds barrier magic and scaled it down, which made the barrier so strong that it was nearly indestructible. With at least enough strength to withstand being thrown into the sun, though somehow it had been penetrated and left with a hole, leaving it without the necklace inside. She immediately activated her mana location and then noticed something… A presence that was not Yamato in his room? Without her there? Unacceptable! It could be another girl confessing her love! She needed to get there as soon as possible, and as she rushed out and was between the two buildings, she sensed the presence left his room… Out the window?! Now on the roof, where she would immediately fly up to from the side of the building where no one saw her just in case. And there they were, looking around the campus in a brown cloak and hood on. They were around 1.20 cm (≈3.9 ft.) tall, from what she could tell. Was this… A child? It didn't matter to her. She was about to fly toward her and grab her by the neck when she just jumped off the building, ran down the wall and landed on the ground in less then a second.
Yuki clenched her fists, ready to shoot a mass destruction spell at her, but in their bag was the necklace, so she couldn't use ranged attacks at all. She junped after them and went after her, but she was fast. She ran into a direction away from all the students, to another fence that seemed to have no guards guarding it. Just as Yuki had them cornered, they levitated upwards and then forward. It did not seem like flying, more like gravity shifted for them. But Yuki did not care at all, and fly after her. As she caught up, she drew her sword and was about to cut of their neck but they ran twice as fast all of the sudden, leaving Yuki behind. She could catch up in the blink of an eye, but she would have to hse her wings, which would be a risk if anyone noticed. Though… The only person around would be dead if she used them, so would it be alright? As she thought about it, they suddenly reached the city, and gone was her chance. She had to stop infront of a crowd that the culprit just slipped right through, apparently towards an narrow alley that split up into something like a maze. Yuki had to squeeze through the crowd, hating all physical contact she made by doing so but eventually came out on the other side.
As she squeezed through the narrow path, she exited into another alley, but at least this one was wider. Since there were so many people near by, her mana location wouldn't work to track down a single person. Even if the alley was less crowded, it got all mixed up and she could no longer identify whose mana was the culprits. And the alley were somehow still not as secluded as she had hoped them to be. There were a bunch of single individuals in different paths, so she would just have to check each one of them. Hoping for the culprit to just be in the first one, instead a man from a approached her from a dark corner. He seemed to be alone, with no one else around. She gave him a glare, devoid of all empathy and respect, with only hostility.
"What's a pretty little thing doing here all on its own? Care to donate something for the needy?"
"...I am really not in the mood for this… Have you seen a small hooded person?"
He pulled a knife which he pointed at Yuki threateningly, he seemed to not know the uniform she was wearing, which was slightly odd, but if he didn't know he was up against a student form the most high skill magic acedemy in the world, then that was only favorably for Yuki.
"That's too bad, sweetheart. I ain't seen no one but you here. I'll just take all them valuables you have, and then we can see how to get your mood up."
"…Oh, there would be something that could mildly improve my mood."
"Oh really? And what's that?"
As she was handing over a bag of coins, she suddenly drew a sword and cut the hand that reached for the bag clean off. He screamed in horror and pain once he realized what had happened, but no sound escaped his mouth.
"What? Why can't I talk? Is that what is going through your head? It's simple, or not for you but whatever. It's called an anti sound barrier. It freezes the air movement, making sound unable to travel through it. But even something as simple as that is probably too complicated for a worthless subhuman such as yourself. It is the second time I have to use that this week… It's really useful!"
He fell over as he frantically tried to run away, but his legs would not move. It was as if all the muscles had been cut, even though they seemed intact from the outside.
"You see… Someone stole something very precious to me…"
She rammed the sword through his for help reaching hand, into the ground where it would pin him.
"Inexcusable behavior from some thug… Size wise probably a child. But I have no sympathy for them. If I catch them, I will do just what I'm about to do to you."
She then summoned the knife she used on Jack, moving her thumb over the cryptic engravings on its hilt.
"I'm not a knife person, but it will be easier this way. That too, is the second time I'm using this… Last time ended pretty badly too, y'know?"
She pierced with its tip into the side of his neck, very carefully and not too deep. He was too shocked to struggle, paralyzed out of fear. But soon he realized he was literally paralyzed.
"You feeling it yet? It's a special poison I personally created. Its symptoms are complete paralysis, fever, eye, nose and ear bleeding, organ failure and most importantly, still feeling everything that happens to you, all in that order. I created it last night, actually. So you are my first test subject! How does that feel? Isn't it exciting? Must be a highlight of yoir life."
Unable to move, he internally cried for help as she cut with the knife along his arm, from shoulder to hand, deep enough to scratch the bone.
"Y'know, I would've just left… But I felt like you were hitting on me. I know, I'm very pretty. Quite literally perfection~. But I am taken, and any and all attempts to hit on me are a personal affront to my master and the bond we share. You are in the way of our pure love."
Arriving at the hand, still pierced by the sword, she pulled out the knife and stuck it in his hip, turning him onto his back using the knife stuck in him instead of grabbing him.
"Then the nerve of trying to rob me… It was so pathetic, I think I'm actually doing you a favor by ending your miserable existence. Which is the last thing I want to do. I want nothing but the worst for you. Only over my dead body would I do you a favor. Your resistance, or more, attempts to resist, do indicate that you don't want to die, so that's a good sign for me to kill you."
She gently cut open his stomach, where she broke off a rip and pulled it out. Proceeding to lay it on his chest, which was covered in sweat and blood.
"Oh, the fever started. That's great. I do hope I don't accidentally hit an artery or something. It'd be a bother if you got blood on my uniform. Master said it looks pretty on me, so if you ruin it I will take it personally. I don't wanna cover it with mana each time, that's such an annoying process. And I'd have to take them off for that, which I'm not willing to do infront of you, obviously."
She healed the wound slightly, so he wouldn't bleed out just yet. Then broke out another rip. Repeating this process three more times.
"Now, all set! Oh, the nose bleed started. Well, at least we can keep track of how close you are to dying from the poison! Remember, next step is organ failure. In case you don't know, that means death!"
Yuki pulled the sword out of his hand, and instead put one of the rips through it.
"I don't really have a plan here, just doing what I think feels uncomfortable… Do you feel uncomfortable? Hey, I just realized how much it must suck to be you. You probably thought how lucky you were, finding a cute girl all alone in an alley, she had money too! Man, really done a number on you. Now… Four rips left… Don't think I'll keep them or something, that's gross. Who'd want to be reminded of you? Y'know what? Just take those back."
She just shoved them back in, in no order or angle, just as a pile through the wound. No need to mention the indescribable pain he was going through, but was unable to show. Then the organ failure began, his eyes going blank the next moment.
