Edeline and Charles arrived at the grand mansion that would now be their home. The atmosphere was quiet, unfamiliar, and heavy with unspoken thoughts.
Bretum greeted them at the entrance. "Your rooms are upstairs," he said with a polite smile. "I shall prepare some lunch."
As he watched them, Bretum noticed something and turned to Charles. "My lord, allow me to show you the office. Lord Cealum gave special instructions."
Charles gave a small nod. "Edeline," he said gently, "go ahead to the room. I'll join you later."
Edeline nodded without a word and made her way upstairs, her footsteps light but hesitant.
Bretum led Charles down the hall and opened the door to the office. As Charles stepped inside, his eyes immediately fell on the window, where Edward stood, waiting, a soft smile on his face.
Charles froze in place, heart skipping a beat. "Edward…?"
