Kim eyed the strange smile lingering on Martin's face and frowned.
"Alpha, you seem awfully free these days."
Free enough to poke into Regina's life every other minute. You never cared this much even when it was about Cecilia…
"Do I?" Martin let out a small hum, his voice calm and utterly unapologetic. "Get out."
Kim obeyed, stepping out of the car. Martin got out as well, walking around to the driver's side. As he opened the door, he added casually, "There's not much going on lately. You can return to Silver Moon Pack and wait for further orders."
Kim hesitated, his brows furrowing. "Alpha…"
Just as Martin was about to slide into the driver's seat, he paused. Turning his head slightly, he looked at Kim—not with his usual arrogance, but with a piercing coldness in his gaze.
"Douglas," he said, voice low and sharp, "you may be part of the Shadow Corps, but don't forget who you belong to. You're my personal shadow."
