After the embarassing fiasco with two of his perks, Markus had woken up worse for wear.

The first thing he had done after waking up was run straight to the bathroom and shove his face into the toilet and regurgitate everything in his stomach.

His head was still pounding and spinning but he had faulted that to the fact that he hadn't passed out for that long so his head hadn't recovered fully.

After that he had stumbled down to the kitchen and to his luck his brother and mother were still not home, it was currently 8 pm when he had gulped down a liter of water which seemed to have lessened his symptoms.

Now though he was just putting the finishing touches to the meal he was cooking, since no one was around he had to cook and he was feeling perkish.

[—Ding! Cooking Magic[E-] has Ranked up— Cooking Magic[E+]-]

Again he grumbled, feeling as new knowledge streamed into his head, techniques to make better dishes and better control over the spells in the lore of that brand of magic.

Luckily it wasn't as bad as bad as the earlier mess, though he would have to take the night off from magic to recover just so he didn't make his situation worse.

He sighed as he shook the ringing out if his head as a thought settled into his mind.

' I need a way to improve my brains capabilities.'

He had seen and experienced what would happen as time went on and his mind didn't adapt to the changes that were happening to his body.

Just the other day with using his [Trace Gloves] he had gotten a headache from the information upload, now today he had passed out due to his mind not being able to handle the information from [Aura Source].

And now with [Recall] making it impossible for him to forget, he'd fry his brain before he achieved his goals and he wouldn't have that.

Even now as he dished himself a plate his mind was going a mile a second, recalling useless information like how rice is grown, harvested and imported all from information from his first life.

At the pace things were going, he'd burn his brain out with the constant upload and retainment of information as the brain wasn't meant to remember everything which was why people forgot most things in their lives if it wasn't relevant to them.

And with the amount of skills he had and the nuanced information each skill had, his brain was already going off fumes.

He had to push his [Aura Source] down to the limit in order to even keep himself standing now, the information that his senses was relaying to him instead of being put in the back of his head and slowly disappearing was now permanently etched into his mind.

[Recall] was both a blessing and a curse in his opinion and he had to figure out a solution to his problem fast.

Which had brought his mind to the one item that he hadn't taken out of his System Inventory yet.

[—Cleansing Potion[Consumable]- A potion that has been crafted by a master alchemist, boiled and refined from the many rare plants and material of their world. Drinking this will cause your body to undergo a genetic cleansing and thus purging all forms of illness and genetic anomalies and this also has the side effect of stretching the users genetic lock limit.]

This was one of his earlier rewards from the System.

He had been keeping in his System and had not used it yet due to a couple reasons.

Two of the most prevalent being that he wished to study it, at first he didn't know how that would have come about but now he had a means to do so with the help of the [Trace Gloves]. He had hoped that he could reverse engineer it and create a version of it himself but it bulk, hoping that it would help him in his Chimera Project.

Another reason being that if he had no hope of cracking its secrets then he wanted to use it after becoming a Chimera.

He had hoped that with changing into a Chimera if there were any unforeseen complications then he would use the potion to offset any anomalies in his genetic structure and hopefully maybe increase the potential of his transformation.

But now as things stood, he would have to use it on himself.

From his understanding, his bloodline while having had increased his physical parameters hadn't increased his mental ones.

And seeing as the boost was minimal at best even at half purity, then it was safe to say that the bloodline wasn't a physical one at all and depended on their ability to [Split] into more of its self.

Meaning that he wouldn't be getting a boost to his mental capabilities from it either.

So with a resigned sigh even as he gulped down the last spoon of his ridiculously delicious meal, he walked up the stairs again.

Slowly he got into his room and locked it before sitting on the bed.

His mind felt tired, his eyelids felt heavy but he had to do one more thing before that.

That being taking out the vial of golden liquid in his inventory, he didn't even gaze at the beautiful golden shimmers inside the bottle and gulped it down in one go before putting the vial in a drawer.

Then with a small breath he threw himself back on the bed and let his mind relax before he fell deep asleep.

When Markus woke up he was surprised to note that it was still dark outside, a peek at his alarm clock was enough to fill him in on what time it was.

' 3 AM? '

Though he didn't concentrate on that for long as a screen suddenly popped up in his face.

[—Ding! Your Status Page has been updated!]

' Huh? What–? '

As he went to sit up to get a better angle and shake the haze in his mind from sleeping he felt his joints popping into place, muscles tightening and relaxing before everything suddenly felt right for some reason.

He blinked for a second as he noted that his headache had ceased, the information in his head didn't feel clustered anymore and was seemingly swimming in a wild birth.

The feedback of information from [Aura Source] backed up by his own unnaturally high perception stat didn't feel all that crippling, infact he couldn't even feel anything out of place at all.

It was as if the information streamed into his mind in an orderly fashion than everything at once as he had experienced the day before.

He greatfully sighed, happy that his assumption over the potion had worked even though he still felt a pang of loss from the loss of such a valuable resource.

But he didn't get to wallow in his mind for long, he wanted to see the effects of the potion as he felt that there was much more he gained then a clear mind from it.
