After parting ways with Ryuji, Tanjiro and his group quickly moved towards the location Inosuke had indicated.
"Hey! Leaving that guy alone, is that really okay?" Shinichi asked Tanjiro, his concern evident.
Tanjiro replied, "If Ryuji-senpai can't handle it, what good are we there? Are you planning to die with him?"
Tanjiro's words were directed at Shinichi, but he believed Ryuji could handle the situation.
Even if Ryuji knew he couldn't defeat two Lower Ranks and had lied to ensure their escape, Tanjiro understood. He would have done the same.
Of course, he hoped Ryuji would defeat them.
As they approached, the spider silk grew denser, slowing their progress. They had to constantly cut through the silk to advance.
"The silk is getting denser, meaning we're close to the {demon} controlling it! Everyone be careful!" Tanjiro warned.
Suddenly, a Demon Slayer, a female Slayer with a ponytail, blocked their path. She held the body of a Slayer she had killed, and she herself was wounded, a terrifying sight.
"More of those controlled ones," Inosuke grumbled.
"Don't come closer, I'll hurt you! Bring stronger Slayers! Otherwise, we'll all be killed!" the controlled Slayer cried out in anguish.
She attacked.
Tanjiro was forced to defend. Watching her body contort into unnatural fighting stances and hearing her pained cries, he grew angry.
"Damn it! Controlling people with silk… even if their bones break… unforgivable!"
While Tanjiro faced the controlled Slayer, the {demon} controlled more of the fallen Slayers. They attacked Inosuke, Shinichi, and Shinji.
"Just kill me! I don't want to suffer anymore!"
"Kill me! Quickly!"
The Slayers, their bodies grotesquely twisted, begged to die.
"Since you're so insistent, I'll grant your wish," Inosuke, excited by their pleas, drew his two Nichirin Blades, ready to end their suffering.
"Wait! Inosuke, don't hurt them!" Tanjiro stopped him. He knew Inosuke was capable of killing his teammates.
