Chapter 6 - Base And Search

The sun was at its zenith. The unimaginably massive purple planet remained unchanging and unmoving, dominating most of the sky—sitting at the very center of this universe, observing everything within.

A man marched through the wasteland, searching for something he called a good spot.

"A large deposit of minerals nearby, a frozen lake, and only flat, vast, sandy but solid ground. This is a suitable location," I murmured after finding and surveying the area.

I took out the red cube from my pocket and threw it to the ground, far from where I stood.

Upon impact, the cube crumbled, turning into red mist. It continued to grow and expand.

After a few moments, the red mist began to dissipate, revealing a house made of an unknown alloy—only known to me.

It was a medium-sized house that looked normal on the surface, but it wasn't. This thing was equipped with the most advanced defense system technology in my arsenal of creation. I won't go into detail—it's a pain in the ass. I'll keep it simple: the defense system in question is capable of destroying everything that existed before the Great Change. It is a ??? Level tech.

The door automatically opened, and then a hovering robot shaped like a ball with a large single lens came out. This robot flew using anti-gravity propulsion and was powered by one of my most powerful miniaturized reactors.

Note: I wasn't talking about a miniaturized nuclear reactor. I meant a reactor that combines all energy types in existence, blending them seamlessly to create a higher form of energy at the ??? level. I call it the White Engine.

The name comes from the fact that the engine turns white upon completion. If incomplete, its original color remains orange.

The robot was only the size of a basketball.

"Hello Master, Anastasia—the AI in charge of the entire base."

"Good. Go ahead," I responded.

The ball of tech bobbed up and down in happiness and led the way, giving a full tour.

The base was divided into layers: the upper and the lower.

The upper layer, which was the house, was an unpenetrable and unbreakable structure that looked normal—but wasn't.

The lower layer was the basement, which had ??? number of floors, each the size of ???. From the outside, the entire structure was about 150 meters tall, including the basement, shaped like a pyramid. But on the inside, its interior had the size of ???.

Anastasia led me through the tour of the base. Even though I knew everything inside—after all, I designed it—I still wanted to look around.

There were floors full of Earth-like biomes: forests, rivers, mountains, lakes, fields, deserts, and more. Each biome was filled with creatures suited for different conditions. Some floors contained only laboratories, others were designated as military bases. Some floors were for producing food, tech, weapons, and more.

We toured for a while before heading to the top floor to relax.

I sat on a couch in the living room, watching a TV documentary about a certain spaceship voyage—specifically, a Star Destroyer. This ship was shaped like a sphere and had a diameter of ???. But even then, it was like an ant before a planet. I don't even know if this thing could destroy a star now, but back before the Great Change, it was called the All-of-Existence Destroyer—capable of erasing everything in one strike. Now I'm doubting if it could even break a star.

We launched a couple of these things a while ago, and currently, Anastasia was documenting one of their voyages and streaming it to me. The purpose of this huge machine was to reach a certain location and form a structure that would activate a scanning system capable of scanning a ???—enough to survey thousands of multiverses in this era.

"How much time?" I asked Anastasia beside me.

"At least 40 minutes," Anastasia responded.

This equipment and tech I'm using now are what I used to explore the Land of Chaos, a place beyond all of existence—an unreachable domain because of its incomprehensible size and danger.

I used this tech to explore that unreachable place. But now, I can barely use it to explore thousands of multiverses.

"Hey, Anastasia. Can I still use this tech to explore that place?"

"Judging the size of all things now—it's impossible, sir. We could only do this when we are upgraded countlessly."

"Figures."

"Do your own thing, then."

"Copy that."

I slowly closed my eyes and slept.

On the other hand, the Star Destroyer reached its designated location and activated the scanning system.

An invisible ripple of energy erupted from it, sweeping through the universe and multiverse. It went beyond the multiverse, covering thousands more.

Countless data began to store within the server of the Star Destroyer while copies were sent to the main server—located deep in the other floors of John's base.

These data documented the planets, universes, and multiverses under the scanning system's range. All information was gathered, processed, and stored in the main database.

It continued for hours before stopping.

I slept deeply and only woke when noon came.

I yawned. At that moment, I was having dinner while reviewing the data gathered by the Star Destroyer on TV. These data were maps of thousands of multiverses, their descriptions, and other key details.

Most planets in the multiverse I was currently in were all empty—devoid of any life. But the Chaos Sovereignty weren't part of the equation. They were everywhere. They ruled and owned everything.

They said the Old and Given Worlds and the Little Space Cloud were the only things they didn't rule or own. That's a bad joke—those places were given by them in the first place.

Forget that for now.

The Star Destroyer found interesting places in this universe and multiverse—sadly, still empty and lifeless.

I observed the multiverse I was currently in for a while, marking all the valuable planets I discovered. Then I moved on to a neighboring multiverse.

The first multiverse was also empty and lifeless. I didn't stop and kept reading data. Out of thousands of multiverses, 70% were empty and lifeless, while 30% were alive and brimming with life.

Among the living multiverses, ten piqued my interest. I was currently planning to choose one and explore.

I chose these ten multiverses because they were the only ones that had what I was seeking—civilization, weaker dungeons, and good adventure potential.

A few minutes later...

A holographic model of a multiverse projected in front of me—displayed by a holographic device.

The multiverse looked like a cluster of endless bubbles stacked together, forming a boundless bubble cluster. Each bubble was beyond ??? in size.

Each bubble was a universe—and they were infinite. These universes had one thing in common: they were all parallel worlds of a single universe within this multiverse.

This multiverse is called Ebatar, but my AI named it Danmachi. She gave it this name because it resembled an anime series from Earth-777. The AI knew everything about Earth—and every version of it that existed across all timelines.

John's Earth didn't have that anime series, so he didn't know it. Besides, there's so much anime in existence—it's hard to watch everything. He could do it easily using clones, but where's the fun in that?

So far, he has only watched 240 Earths' entire anime collections.

"So this multiverse resembles an anime, huh?" I commented while looking at the multiversal map.

"Not only this one—the remaining nine too."

"Got it," I said, gesturing to her to open a portal directly to that world.

As long as Anastasia had the data, she could open a portal there instantly.

A portal of blue and red appeared before my eyes.

"I'll leave this place to you. Follow the orders engraved within your program."

"Understood," Anastasia said, bobbing up and down.

"Focus on improving the Scanning system, make sure that it can detect the endless number of multiverses that we didn't able to see"

I walked through the portal, waving my hand—and soon vanished within.
