The fact that they were now in front of their house was beyond Thalia's comprehension. She can still recall her parents' deaths in an accident when she was five years old.
She saw her mother, Rizalyn, talking to the mother of the twins, Bella; Thalia could see Bella's bruises. She observes that during their journey, Bella can no longer stand Bernard's secret and tries to have him imprisoned in order to change her husband. However, she is unsuccessful because he has the police to support him against her husband.
On several occasions, he abused her and threatened to harm their kids. She was unaware, however, that this was a former friend of her mother's.
As her older brother had already mentioned, the twins' mother had previously asked their mother, Rizalyn, for help because their parents were seasoned journalists who were always one step ahead. Young as she was, she was still unable to comprehend what was going on.
"Please, Riza, help me get my husband imprisoned if I am to die." Bella's voice sounded sad and begging.
The sadness was evident on her mother's face, but she just nodded. In their house, the couple was talking secretly.
"Riza, what have you gotten yourself into now?" Thalia's father asked, shaking his head.
"I need to help my friend." Her mother said stubbornly.
"Do you know the danger you will face that could lead to your downfall?" her father asked, shaking his head again. "Look, our children are still young; Felix is still in elementary school. Can we think carefully before we get into trouble? Because our children will be the ones to sacrifice."
Their mother, absorbed in her own thoughts at the time, did not respond. Her mother secretly observed Fuego's behavior, but she did not act carelessly. Her husband did not allow her to act, but she kept watching.
They were informed that there had been an accident because Bella had been killed by a stray bullet.
"Rizalyn!" Jeffrey stopped his wife.
"I can no longer remain silent, Jeff; Bella's husband killed her when she uncovered something important." He silenced Bella. "That's all Bella said, her eyes glaring at her husband.
He sighed. "Alright, I understand, but we need to be cautious... I will help you, okay?" asked her father, who tried to calm his wife.
Rizalyn calmed down because her husband was there to support her. They found some evidence that they could use in the case, along with the warehouse they were monitoring and the children of her friend, who had been led astray by the man.
Occasionally, visions visit her, prompting her friend to seek assistance in achieving justice. However, the couple did not succeed because Bernard Fuego was tampering with the evidence they had gathered; the evidence they brought to court was not sufficient.
"I will not stop, never—never will I stop." Rizalyn said to her husband.
After the death of Bernard Fuego's wife, it was reported that he had a new wife, Bianca Roman-Fuego, and they had a child, Chesca Daia Fuego, who came from the influential Roman family.
Thalia's two parents continued to observe back then, until the second wife discovered Bernard Fuego's secret. There, the couple decided to collaborate with Bianca, and Bianca began to act secretly. She was meeting with Thalia's parents back then, and little Thalia was completely unaware of what was happening.
"I have a friend who is a police officer." Bianca said this during her meeting with the two couples.
"Can we trust that policeman?" Jeffrey asked the lady.
"Don't worry, that police officer will help us. I found out that your case against Bella has been overturned. I regret why I didn't listen to my parents. I'm not afraid for my own life; I'm afraid for my child, not just for my child, but for Bella's three children as well." Thalia saw the look of regret and fear on the face of the problem that Bianca would face.
"It's been two years; we don't trust the police because they have many connections."
"I know that, but don't worry, we will help each other." Bianca said.
The couple simply nodded.
Traveling and its premonition are deeply ingrained in Blanco's DNA; they perceive that it will soon lead to Bianca's death. That night, the couple decided to meet with the police officer whom Bianca had mentioned.
Thalia and Ericka were in the car, and they exchanged glances at that moment.
"We need to take action, Jeff. I won't waste a few years of surveillance on Fuego; we need to give it to Bianca." Rizalyn said those words while her husband, Jeffrey, was driving.
"We need to be careful; there are people scattered around to watch us." Jeffrey warned his wife and looked down the road.
Suddenly, there were armed men blocking their vehicle. The couple could only sigh. Rizalyn hid the envelope in their car. If anything happens, someone will immediately find the envelope containing the evidence, the photos of the illegal markets, and the sale of women's bodies. Bernard Fuego has committed many moral violations, and furthermore, he abuses his children, threatening them to keep silent.
They were made to get out of the vehicle. As soon as they stepped out of the vehicle, someone brandished a gun at them. The couple remained silent and returned to the vehicle.
Jeffrey, her husband, was reviving the engine when a ten-wheeler truck rushed in, throwing them off the vehicle.
"Felix, Jenny, Thalia, Greg..." That was all Thalia heard as her parents lay dying, their bodies broken and unrecognizable due to the impact of the collision.
She reached out her hand in the field. "Take care of your siblings, Felix, and be careful with Fuego." It gradually lost its breath.
Thalia's tears flowed freely at what happened to her parents.
It is true that their death was intentional.
Mom, Dad. She cried, unable to hold back her emotions.
A police officer seized the brown envelope her parents had hidden and immediately handed it to Bianca.
"What are you going to do with that, Bianca?" the police officer asked her.
"The law will collect proof from him." He said.
"Your spouse already knows your moves." He even said that.
"I know."
Bianca immediately went to the dense forest; she knew they would look for the evidence the Blancos were desperately trying to obtain.
"They will be able to use this. My children, Chesca, Mikaela, and Ellese, can use this." She said, moving quickly, digging with only a flashlight as her light. She immediately left after burying the evidence.
Her husband will look for her.
Thalia saw a young girl her age; she saw little Chesca hiding in the mansion where she witnessed her mother's death. The little girl came out.
Her father wanted to shoot her, but Bianca pleaded to spare the life of young Chesca, and then Bernard showered with bullets the body of Bianca.
They were suddenly brought back to the event; Thalia heard her sister Jenny arguing back then, and she was stunned by what she saw. A man came out, slapped Chesca, and left them.
Thalia was reminded of the memories they had seen during their journey.
"Are you okay?" Ericka asked, her face showing a flinch from the after-effect it had on their ability.
It reflected the lives of Chesca and her siblings during that time; she couldn't believe how full of struggles their lives had been.
"I will save you." That's all Mikaela said back then; she was saddened by the sight of the corpse.
"Don't worry," she told Ellese's twin.
"They're not dead yet." Thalia only said that to Mikaela back then.
