Chapter 149 - Chapter 147: The Auspicious Beast Wants a Fight

After enjoying a brief moment of freedom in the forest, the Auspicious Beast gradually slowed her pace and found a tall, sturdy tree to rest beneath.

Since receiving the goddess sister's blessing, she found her love for nature had deepened. She remembered—the goddess had granted her life energy from the same source as the Lake of Life, hadn't she?

Leaning against the trunk, she closed her eyes and quietly attuned herself to her surroundings. The rustling leaves swayed gently in the breeze, insects chirped and birds sang a natural symphony, and the vegetation on the forest floor emitted a crisp, earthy aroma.

For a brief moment, she felt completely one with nature. All the life forms around her were within her perception—as if this was her very own natural domain.

She opened her eyes, and they gleamed with an intense emerald glow. It took quite some time for that color to gradually fade back to normal.

Pondering the soul power she had just expended, she murmured,

"Natural Domain... a soul skill outside of soul rings?"

Indeed. In that fleeting moment—after spending a month in the human world and now returning to the wilderness—the Auspicious Beast had realized a new domain-type soul skill, based on the life force she now carried: the Natural Domain.

To others, the idea of casually gaining such a high-level skill might sound outrageous. But for her, it was perfectly reasonable.

As the heaven-blessed Auspicious Beast, it wasn't strange for her to stumble into a breakthrough. Her foundation in life energy, combined with the spiritual attributes of the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, made it entirely plausible for her to develop a wide-range life-sensing ability like this one.

The effects of the Natural Domain weren't absurdly powerful—it simply allowed her to sense every movement of living beings within its range with extreme clarity. In natural environments like forests, the range was even magnified several times over, making it a solid scouting skill. If anyone intended harm toward her, she'd know instantly. And because the domain consumed very little soul power and had almost no visual cues, she could activate it anytime.

In her beast form, most of her abilities had stemmed from innate talents granted by her bloodline. Soul beasts below the hundred-thousand-year level were usually limited by their intelligence and could only use natural-born abilities.

But this time, she had learned a soul skill on her own.

The experience of becoming human and fully awakening her mind felt entirely new—and kind of exciting.

She reactivated her domain and continued scanning her surroundings.

"Hmm... not many strong soul beasts around."

Within a thousand-meter radius, most were only century-level beasts. Even millennium-level ones were scarce.

Not surprising. This wasn't a soul beast habitat—more of a pass-through zone for human caravans. It was just a forest with a bit of wildlife, really.

Still, the Auspicious Beast wasn't satisfied.

'Honestly, my fists are itching... I need to fight.'

Don't be fooled by her cute, delicate appearance. Back when she was still a Three-Eyed Golden Lion, she was anything but gentle. She had brawled with countless soul beasts of equal or even higher ranks in the Star Dou Forest's core zone. Many powerful beasts had ended up as her meals.

After all, she carried a trace of the Golden Dragon King's bloodline—which naturally made her born for battle.

She wandered through the forest, continuing to search. Finally, she found a suitable target.

Her eyes snapped open, and a wicked grin spread across her sweet little face, completely at odds with her appearance.

"Hehe... found you."

She bent her knees and pushed off the ground with startling power. With a single kick, she launched herself in a blur toward her target. The ground split beneath her, leaving behind twin craters and a lingering cloud of dust.

Though she had a petite frame, the Golden Dragon King bloodline granted her immense strength. Her green-gold hair was the symbol of that fusion—life energy, draconic might, and the power of fate all combined. It was also the unique manifestation of her powerful martial soul in human form.

The Goddess of Life had not sealed away the dangerous, volatile Golden Dragon King bloodline that remained sealed in the Divine Realm. Instead, she had actively drawn it forth, intending to gradually redistribute that power through the Auspicious Beast—so that one day, the lingering issue of the Golden Dragon King could finally be resolved.

The power couldn't be destroyed, but the being itself was far too uncontrollable. Handing over fragments of that power to another of the beast race was a wise and necessary choice.

This plan was still in motion. The problem of how to deal with the sealed Golden Dragon King remained. Even the God of Destruction was involved, seeking ways to gain authority over that power. As for the Golden Dragon King's divine weapon—the Golden Dragon Spear—it was something he could definitely entrust to the Auspicious Beast.

After all, if Tang San could obtain it in the original timeline, there was no reason the God of Destruction couldn't do the same.

Returning to the present—

The Auspicious Beast dashed several kilometers through the forest and eventually arrived at a riverside clearing.

There, she spotted her target: a silver-furred wolf drinking by the river.

The wolf had beautiful silver hair and a crescent-shaped tuft of white on its forehead. Its silver eyes gleamed intelligently.

'A native species of this region?' she wondered. Though unfamiliar with this soul beast, she could tell it wasn't a match for her—its cultivation was well below the ten-thousand-year mark, perhaps around seven or eight thousand years.

But the moment she appeared, the wolf immediately noticed her.

That startled her.

'Wait... it sensed me?'

She had masked her aura perfectly. For soul beasts under the ten-thousand-year level, her mental strength should've been undetectable. That could only mean one thing—

This silver wolf possessed spiritual attributes.

And that was correct. As a species unique to the Sun Moon Empire, silver wolves were rare beasts with both metallic and elemental affinity. They could manipulate six elemental attributes, which required a powerful spiritual core to control. Without a strong enough mind, they couldn't maintain such chaotic harmony.

Once a silver wolf reached ten thousand years, it evolved into a Silvermoon Wolf King and gained an additional rare attribute beyond the six basic elements. At the hundred-thousand-year level, it would become a Silvermoon Emperor, acquiring yet another elemental power.

If this silver wolf were already a Silvermoon Wolf King, the upcoming battle would've been tough—especially with the wolf's dominance over golden wolves and its hexagonal strengths.
