Lopen
"Fuck! Fuck!! Fuck!!!" I yelled after loosing track of Kent and Emmiel.
The shot I'd fired at him had grazed him. It was evident from the trail of blood on the ground but the trail had come to a stop—as though he'd entered a car or something—
Making my way back to the wedding reception, It was empty.
The invited guest had taken off and a large number of them had already been taken care of by Beta Davin who was breathing heavily, trying to catch his breath.
"Alpha Lopen" He greets, throwing a salute to his his chest. "Where's Lord Emmiel?"
"Kent got to him"
Davin's stilled. "And who is this Kent?"
It was then I realized that Davin wasn't aware of the fact that Emmiel was an omega from tbe omega facility. But then again, he didn't need to know that.
"Emmiel's father" I responded.
"Should I set out a search for him?"
I shake my head. "There's no need. It was easy finding his location the last time because Asai let you. It might not be easy this time. I'll handle it"
"Understood, Alpha"
"Prepare the car. We're heading back home"
Immediately we got back home, I pulled out my phone and called the one person I never thought I'd turn to for help; Alpha Cairn.
Alpha Cairn is an exiled mercenary Alpha. Just like Davin, Cairn fought in wars. He didn't work for me. No. But was an outstanding opponent once.
All exiled Alpha's from town are sent to Ammonth.
As you might guess, the reason why he got exiled was because of me and yet, I called him regardless because regardless of his millitary services, Cairn was an expert in finding people.
If Beta Davin could, imagine the senses of an alpha?
Cairn picked up almost immediately. "Look what the cat dragged in"
"Save your mockery for another day, Cairn. I want to offer you a job"
Cairn laughed out loud. "Why would I take anything from you, Lopen?"
"Because this is the best shot you have at getting reinstated. Don't you want to reclaim your glory and exert revenge on me?"
Silence filled the other end of the receiver. My patience was running thin. "Look, If you don't want it—"
"What is this job offer?"
A slow smile splays across my lips. He bit the bait. "I need you to find my wife"
"You're married now?"
I quirked my brow, surprised to hear that this was news to him. "I see getting exiled restricts you from keeping up-to-date with current news"
"Exactly. And whose fault is that?"
I cleared my throat. "Anyways, I got married today. My bride's father whisked him away from the wedding"
"Him?"
I grumbled. "You don't need to be curious about my entire life, Cairn. I just need you to find my bride for me"
"I'm not curious about your life, Lopen but if I'm going to have to find your bride—whom I'd never set my eyes on before— I'm going to need a little more description, don't you agree?"
"Whatever. I'll tell you every important information that you need to know. Just find him on time"
"So, when would I be heading back to town?" Cairn inquires. "I can barely find anything about your bride from Ammonth"
He was trying to play smart with me. "Your phone still has service, Cairn. You can still do a thing or two. Only after my bride's location has been confirmed and I rescue him would I fulfil my part of the deal"
"I don't trust you, Lopen"
"Great!" I admit. "Because, I don't trust you either but here we are. Like I said earlier, I'm not forcing you to take on this job. You can either rot in Ammonth for the rest of your petty life or do a simple task for me"
"Three days" Cairn says. "Give me three days"
"You have 24hours" I countered.
"Lopen!" Cairn yells. "I already told you about the situation of things here in Ammonth. There isn't enough gadgets to make it possible to find your bride in 24hours"
"Then make it happen, Cairn. You're more than capable of doing so" I state. "If you don't call back in 24hours with a good news, the deal is off"
Hanging up, numerous thoughts creeped into my head. Did Kent know Emmiel was pregnant? If he did, why had he decided to separate us?
A pregnant omega needed the pheromones of an alpha to help stabilize the baby.
Punching my hands through the wall, I roared as the wall cracked. "I will kill you Kent if anything happens to my baby. Infact, I'm going to kill you either ways"
I should have shot Kent as soon as he appeared in the parking lot but watching Emmiel break down, I decided to give them some time to say their goodbyes..
His first killing took a toll on him so how much more that of someone he calls a father?
But I should have known better. Kent had always been a fox in sheep's clothing.
With Kent's involvement in Emmiel's escape this time, I began to worry that I might not hold Emmiel in my arms again.
A knock was heard against my door. "I don't want to see anybody. Get lost"
"Are you sure you want me to leave?" A familiar feminine voice inquired behind the door.
Strolling towards the door, I turned on the knob as omega Jacqueline appeared before me. "I'm not in a very happy mood. The maid who let you in needs to be dealt with"
"Actually, she deserves a raise because I have something that might help you find your bride" Jacqueline says, stirring up my attention.
"Speak"
"I was on my way out of the wedding when I saw a man throw your bride into a black van. Before I could call for help, they'd gone"
"That's all?" I rolled my eyes. "You could have just delivered the message through the maid. I don't have all day to waste"
She shoved her phone infront of my face. "I took a picture of the van's plate number"
