Anger and Sorrow
***Arin's POV***
"Leave my body!" The shadow twins in my head made me scream. However, they merely chuckled. Their voices sounded like a terrible song in my mind.
They asked, "Why would we leave? Being trapped inside yourself is so much worse than your body."
Piece by piece, I sensed their takeover. I had blackening fingers. I thought my eyes were burning.
"Arin, fight them!" Kael shouted, but it sounded distant.
The shadow twins were too powerful for me to push back. For months, they had been developing inside of me and consuming my feelings.
They muttered,
"Don't worry, Mother.
We'll destroy everyone who has harmed you with your body."
"No!"
Even though I put in more effort, it was like swimming against a waterfall.
At that moment, I heard a sound that broke my heart. Rowan's breathing stopped as he gasped.
"Rowan!"
Jaxon approached his brother with a crawl. "Wake up, Rowan!"
