SOPHIA
"YOU!" Was the first word that escaped from Jayden's lips after i was done introducing myself. I was literally shaking, my breaths coming in pants. What's going to happen to me now? Will they kill me or lock me away for good? Just thinking about it already had me trembling.
"What are you doing here?" He proceeded to ask, his eyes glaring daggers at me.
"Sophia?" Liam called out my name and i felt my insides heating up. My body doing that tingling thing it did the first time I encountered them at that place they found me. He immediately closed the gap between us, engulfing me in a tight hug which took everyone including me, by surprise. I could see the confused look on his father's face as well as everyone present in the room.
"You're okay." He whispered gratefully and pulled away. "I was worried sick about you. We looked for you everywhere but couldn't find you."
Was he being for real right now? They had locked me up and almost threatened to kill me so how could he have missed me? Or was he trying to put up an act in front of his parents? Whatever the case, i don't believe him.
"Am i missing something here?" Their father asked and i suddenly couldn't find my voice. What on earth am i supposed to tell him? That i came from another world and got stuck here only to realize that i was mated to his three sons? How was i supposed to spill that crap without sounding stupid?
"No father. This physician right standing right here is our mate." Noah answered with a smirk playing on his lips. A shock gasp escaped from their father's lips as well as the queen lying on the bed.
"She went missing for a while now and we've been searching for her ever since." He went on. I shot him a glare but he only looked away. "It's like fate wanted us to be together after all and that's why she's here right now as stepmother's physician."
"I–I am not their mate Alpha King." I stuttered a lie despite knowing that it could land me in big trouble. Well I'd rather get into trouble than accept to belong to any of these three.
"Is that true?" He asked again, his voice taking a much firmer note. "Are you their mate or are my sons lying?"
"The mate bond between us is evident father and whether she wants to openly agree to it or not, she cannot hide the fact that she feels it too." Liam spoke up on my behalf and he was right. Ever since they walked in here, i could feel my hormones raging and going haywire.
It was exactly as Katherine had described and no matter how much i tried to hide it, anyone could see that i was somewhat attracted to these men even though i hated it with my entire being.
Just then, the king sent for his messenger who came running in almost immediately.
"Call for a court meeting with the counsel and elders of the pack as well as the seer now." He instructed and he bowed down his head before hurrying away to carry out his bidding. I swallowed. None of this is going well. I had come back to the same problem that i was struggling to avoid all this time.
"And you," He Alpha king turned to face me. "Do not leave the palace grounds until i instruct you to do so. Wait around here until the meeting with the counsel is over." He instructed me and dashed out of the bedroom. His entourage following closely behind him.
As soon as he left, i made my way outside the Queen's chambers to catch my breath. I practiced all the breathing techniques that i had learnt from my years of being a nurse. Breathe in. Breathe out.
I was fuming, cursing and over all, i was freaking out. I heard footsteps behind me and turned to see all three of them, standing there and staring at me with looks that i couldn't quite comprehend. I tried to look away but i found out that I couldn't. For a moment there, all we did was stare at each other.
"Where have you been all these while? Where did you disappear to?" Liam asked, breaking the silence. "We looked for you everywhere but we couldn't find you when we returned back to the cabin."
I blinked furiously. There's no way in hell he was expecting me to answer that.
"Really? That's what you're concerned about?" Jayden attacked him. "You should be looking for a way to kill her and bury her body where no one will find it. What do we care where she disappeared to or why she's here? I know that she's up to no good." He proclaimed, glaring at me in spite.
Okay, I've had enough of this. "What exactly is your problem with me?"
"Excuse me?"
"Yeah. What did i ever do to you and why do you hate me this much? You don't even know me and as far as I'm concerned, I've never done anything wrong to you so why are you projecting your anger and hatred for the world at me?" I asked in a firm voice causing Noah to force a chuckle.
"You're the one to talk." He spat in rage. "Have you forgotten that we caught you in our bathing house trying to spy on us? You're a pervert and only heaven knows what you're trying to achieve by coming back here again after committing treason."
I scoffed, rolling my eyes at him. "Pervert? You wish. I'm sorry to burst your bubble little prince but you don't even have anything worth looking at and trust me, I've seen plenty." I said and his eyes widened at me in anger. Noah burst out laughing and i could see Liam trying to stop himself from laughing too.
"What did you just say to me?"
"You heard me loud and clear." I glared at him, not backing down. I'm done with people trying to walk all over me. I'm done with people making me the bad guy and pinning their issues on me. It's about time i stood up for myself and so help me god that i let another person insult me ever again.
"I already told you that i didn't know how i ended up there. I didn't even know that you three were princes and that was your bathing house so whose fault is it that you're not as popular across the pack as you claim to be?" I raised my chin up at him defiantly.
"Why you little wrench—" He lunged forward to attack me but was held back by both his brothers who didn't let him get through to me. I know that i have touched a muscle. Serves him right for always trying to get under my skin.
"Enough! Both of you." Liam yelled at two of us.
"This is all your fault." Jayden yelled at Liam. "I told you to let me get rid of her but you wouldn't let me and went on to save her. Now you've let a common slave run her mouth to insult me."
"Minutes ago, you were thanking her for saving your mother's life and now you want to kill her?" Liam asked. "Your mother was saved by her hands."
"I don't care!" He spat in rage. "I don't care if she saved a pack in her former life as well."
"Well you should care Jayden. Like it or not, she's the reason why your mother is breathing right now. You owe her your thanks and gratitude." Noah said to him with a smug grin on his face.
"Well i don't owe her anything. I still stand by my words that she's here on a mission and nursing my mother to health was just a facade to make her way into the royal household." He sized me up, showing his distaste. One would think that i had stolen something from him but that wasn't even the case.
"Well too bad that the mission doesn't involve you no matter how badly you wanted it to." I countered and he made to attack me again but he was held back by his brothers for the second time.
"I'll make sure to kill you when i have the chance. Mark my words!" He threatened in a low but thunderous voice.
Just then, we heard footsteps approaching us. We looked up to see the Alpha King and a group of people marching towards us. I froze and my breath caught up in my throat as they got closer to where we stood outside the Queen's chambers.
One of the men from the crowd walked up to me. He had an eerie energy around him that i couldn't decipher. He reached out to hold my hands.
"Is she truly the one seer?" The Alpha king asked him and he nodded his head. Wait, he's a seer? No wonder i felt this strange energy around him. What sort of era is this? And am i truly the one what?
"Yes my lord. She's their mate and the future Luna of this pack." He voiced out.
"By the goddess!" I heard shocked gasps from the little crowd around me but deep down i know that I didn't want this. I didn't want to be mated to any of them so i had to do what was needed and fast.
"I want a rejection!" I said to the seer shocking everyone. "I want a rejection from all three of them and i want it now. I don't want to be mated to any of them and i have no plans of becoming their luna. Over my dead body!" I deadpanned.
