Episode 9: Black Protocol

---

"Target is Code-Touched. Proceed with lethal force."

The lead soldier's voice crackled through his mask as the Black Protocol Squad stormed the cradle chamber. Twenty of them. Each enhanced. No mercy units. No witnesses.

But Jax didn't flinch.

> "You erased their names.

Now I'll erase yours."

His fists ignited—pure codefire, spiraling from his veins like furious lightning.

> BOOM!

He launched forward, a comet of golden destruction. The first three soldiers didn't stand a chance—blasted backward into burning walls. Their bodies glitching, armor splitting apart.

Behind him, the children ducked behind crates, some holding each other. Unit 37 stared wide-eyed, whispering:

> "He's rewriting the fight…"

---

One soldier threw a sonic disc—its frequency tuned to disrupt nerve signals.

> WRRRRRRRMMMMMM—

Jax stumbled. Blood sprayed from his nose.

> "Can't… move…"

The squad closed in, blades raised.

But then—

Kira's voice surged through his earpiece:

> "Override! Injecting rage-script—now!"

Jax's eyes snapped open.

> "Thanks, Kira."

His body erupted in code tendrils—dozens of golden wires whipping out, spearing through armor and dragging soldiers into the air like puppets.

He ripped the sonic disc from the ground and crushed it in his hand.

> "Next time… bring gods."

---

Outside the cradle—

Kira cursed, typing like a demon.

> "They're sealing Sector 14. He's going to be trapped with them."

"Then blow the grid," said a voice behind her.

She spun. It was Marek, the man with the burnt face, eyes like static.

> "You again? Thought you died at Nova Site."

> "I don't die," he smirked. "I reboot."

He tossed her a drive.

> "This unlocks every blackout gate in the lower facility. You'll need it."

> "Why are you helping?"

> "Because Jax… isn't supposed to win.

And I'm curious what happens if he does."

---

Back inside the cradle—

Jax stood in a ring of bodies.

Breathing heavy.

His arm was cracked—glitching. He was leaking light from wounds that wouldn't close.

Then—

BOOM.

The rear wall blew apart.

And from the smoke walked a single figure.

Tall. Black robes. A silver mask shaped like a Watcher's eye.

> "Jax Forrester," it spoke.

"You've broken your seal."

Jax raised a hand. "Who are you?"

The figure stepped forward. Children screamed behind Jax.

> "I am the First Watcher.

And you… are my revolution gone wrong.

"
