The air grew instantly thick as I let those words slip from my lips.
"I mean, after the hangout?" I stretched the words slightly as dread filled my body.
His looks alone scared the life out of me, afraid, so damn afraid to awaken the beast within him again.
I looked away, turning to the window instead, allowing my racing heart to find distraction in the surroundings and the bustling activities outside.
"Who are you planning to see?" he asked, and I turned to him.
"Dad," I replied.
A low, indescribable groan escaped him.
"That's only if you promise to compose yourself in front of everyone," he said firmly, and I couldn't help but nod. That was the least I could do.
Moments later, we arrived at the massive edifice stretched out before us. The exterior alone was breathtaking, enhanced by the carefully planted flowers lined up at the entrance, giving it a stunning look.
