Penelope's POV
The pain assaulted me as the skies were torn open by the thunder.
I draped myself with my arm across my belly as loud thunder sounded above. As the day ended and the storm hit, my body decided to step into the weather.
"Ronan!" I shouted, yet the wind devoured my phrases.
A different contraction surged through me, more intense than the initial one. Water surged between my legs, and I realized with complete assurance that my babies were on their way. Currently.
"RONAN!" I attempted once more, tripping as I made my way to the cave entrance where he had gone to inspect our defenses.
Lightning illuminated again, revealing his silhouette sprinting toward me through the rain. His eyes went wide when he saw me bent over, holding the cave wall.
"Is it time?" he yelled over the storm.
"They're coming!" Another wave of pain crashed over me. "Oh God, they're really coming!"
