Amelia saw her life flash before her eyes. She could not believe that this was the end of her life. She had yet to achieve anything, and only a few months ago, she was in a similar situation. It was as though the world itself was against her living.
She had found happiness in Lemuria Academy, and it had not lasted for long before this deranged princess came for her. She saw the slender hand descending with enough killing intent to scare serial killers onto the righteous path. She closed her eyes and waited for her death. She was not someone who would sit back and allow herself to be killed, but in her current situation, she was completely helpless. Even lifting a finger was impossible. It was not that she was weak; Hildr was simply far too powerful.
Hildr waited for a death that never came. She opened her eyes only to find the princess struggling to deliver her blow. Her hand had been stopped less than an inch away from Amelia's head.
The invisible force held back the hand, and no matter how Hildr struggled, she could not do anything to advance her blow.
After staying in place for another second, the powerful force blew her away like a piece of paper caught in a powerful storm. She crushed through countless trees before she stopped.
When Amelia saw this, she did not think about why the world was acting on her behalf. She did not want to look a gift horse in the mouth, and so she jumped onto her feet and fled. Even though she had lost the Crown of the Endless, she still hoped to preserve her life.
"As long as the verdant hills exist, there will always be more firewood."
She hoped to get back the Crown in the future. For now, she was no match for the Cursed Princess, and even the power she had, she did not know how to use.
She ran as fast as she could, but Hildr was now even more pissed off by Amelia.
She had begun by stealing what belonged to Hildr, and she now used her weird power to evade a merciful death.
"Since she does not appreciate my kindness, I will show her the depths of hell before sending her on her way," thought Hildr. In the next moment, her body exploded into a wave of water that disappeared immediately.
This water then appeared ahead of Amelia. Hildr's body reformed in an instant, and before Amelia could process what was happening, she was sent flying by a kick to the head.
She coughed out blood as she flew through the sky.
What Amelia had seen was a power that most powerful Otherkind had. For one to use this power, all they needed was a large amount of Soul and a connection to one of the elements that formed the fabric of existence. These were water, fire, earth, and wind.
This ability was called second step.
All Draugr had powerful abilities connected to the element of water.
With Hildr's endless amount of soul, she could of course use second step.
Amelia had only just joined the world of the Otherkind, and she did not know many things.
She was truly shaken when she saw Hildr teleport about like that.
On the ground, Amelia spat out ten of her teeth.
"I knew that it was too good to be true," she said.
Hildr did not understand what the girl meant, and she did not care. This time, she waved her hand and summoned a large amount of water above Amelia.
She then controlled this water to form one hundred ice spears.
She did all this in less than a second.
With a simple movement of her hand, the spears rained down on Amelia. Once again, Amelia closed her eyes to welcome the sweet embrace of death.
When she felt nothing, she opened her eyes, and what she saw made her question whether there was truly some figure hidden in the dark, trying to help her through this horror.
The ice spears had been stopped by the invisible force. They were pushing to get through, but the force would not relent. The Cursed Princess looked as though she was about to explode in anger.
Boom! The force blew away the spears, and once again, Amelia was saved.
Over the next few minutes, Amelia saw Hildr try out all kinds of ideas to kill her, but nothing worked.
In the end, Hildr stood over Amelia with furrowed brows.
"I guess I have to take you along with me," said Hildr.
She was about to grab Amelia when the world was suddenly covered by a powerful force that made Hildr understand that she was out of time.
She looked at Amelia one more time. Even though she discovered that she could not kill the girl before her, she had also learned that as long as her attack was not meant to kill her, nothing would stop it.
Hildr lifted Amelia like a helpless chick and bit into her neck. This was not meant to kill her, and so nothing happened.
After taking in a few mouthfuls of the girl's blood, Hildr flew second step into the sky, and there she released all her power for one final attack before she had to leave. Reinforcements had arrived for the academy, but there were still a few seconds for Hildr to clean up the crime scene.
Her power filled the world, and in that moment, the lake water rose into the sky. This was the entire lake.
All this water was under her control.
The water rapidly separated into water spears that quickly turned to ice.
This spear could be seen from kilometers away.
As the sun rose and chased away the darkness, these spears glistened with power.
Hildr spread out her senses. She closed her eyes, and yet she was somehow able to get the location of all the students who were fleeing from her.
She knew exactly where each of them was. This was a unique ability that only Hildr had.
She moved her hands slightly, and the ice spears rained down on the students.
Each student was allocated at least ten ice spears. Hildr wanted to make sure that none of them escaped.
Hildr did not stay behind to see the effect of her attack. She had run out of time. She used second step and vanished in an explosion of water.
