Chapter 22 - GETTING KIDNAP

Escaping Camilla's clutches, Nash blended into the crowd, waiting for the train to disembark in Atral City.

"Announcing: We are arriving at Atral City in 10 minutes. Please check your luggage before disembarking..."

After the train stopped at the station, Nash quickly exited, looking outside.

"Atral City~"

Looking at the city, he finally felt the atmosphere of the interstellar era.

Around him were flying cars, high-rise buildings that pierced the sky, full-scale holograms, people walking with bionic limbs, etc.

Walking through an alley to book a hotel, he heard a hissing sound.

"Not good..." Noticing something wrong, Nash quickly rolled away.

Unfortunately, his reaction was not as fast as his body's movement.

Seeing a prick of a needle in his arm and feeling his body soften, Nash quickly retreated into the runic space.

Thud~

Without his control, his body fell to the ground.

"A sedative?" Nash assessed.

Opening the [Control Module System], he tried to move his body.

Twitch~

Seeing his body move despite the sedative, Nash heaved a sigh of relief.

The [Control Module System] seemed more useful than he thought.

Shortly, just when he was about to control his body to look for the perpetrators, he heard footsteps from the newly updated [Sensing Module System] that included hearing.

"We got another one! What a stupid person, walking into an unmonitored area. What did he expect?"

"This person should be from other cities. Who would think that Atral City was a hell hole?"

"No, isn't it a heaven for people like us? As long as you are a little brave, earning money is too easy."

Hearing the two, Nash roughly understood the situation.

This should be the dark side of Atral City.

The brighter the place, the darker its other side is.

Being kidnapped to be sold as a slave should be a daily occurrence in this place.

The affluent families who owned mining groups had a limited quota of slaves and workers to mine on other planets.

Because of this rule, many were unsatisfied and turned to the black market to buy miners.

Using these unrecorded people, they could harvest more Void Crystals out of the Arleanian Government calculation.

This phenomenon hasn't happened in places like Landon City because the people there are poor.

No matter how much merchandise there is, there would be no buyers.

Realizing the situation, he let the two traffickers drag his body.

"They should have void crystals..." Nash mused.

Money isn't enough to run these kinds of schemes; high-level capital should be in play.

"Let's see where this is going..."

Dragging him into the car, Nash felt a few others in similar conditions.

Counting the time, it took the car over an hour to come to a stop.

Soon, putting them in storage for easy pickup, his kidnappers left for another trip.

Opening the [Control Module System], his body opened its eyes.

"Hmm? What a bunch of demons," Looking around, besides some adults, most of the people in the place were children.

There was even a baby who was only a few months old.

If left lying on the ground for a few more hours, the baby would only be a cold corpse.

Hearing the cry, Nash's heart couldn't help but soften.

"What a pitiful child," Nash thought, comforting the baby as he touched a few of his acupoints, letting him sleep.

"Is this high-grade cotton alloy?" Nash suddenly noticed, looking at the baby's clothes.

Cotton alloy is made of a unique material that could even block a bullet capable of killing a transcendent, yet still as soft as cotton.

"Someone with an unusual identity?"

Knowing that the baby was not simple, he put it neatly in a safe place, ensuring it wouldn't be affected in the coming chaos.

Navigating the place, he found the door to the exit.

"How can you—"

Crack~

Before the guard finished speaking, Nash kicked his chin, bending his head 90 degrees.

"Sleep for a while..." Nash muttered, picking up the gun from the guard's holster.

Navigating his way around, he quickly recognized that he was in a factory storage compartment.

Peaking outside, he also noticed various guards marching in turn, watching the place.

Memorizing the place to prepare for an escape path, he turned inside the factory.

Sneaking further inside, he detected two men standing guard at a heavy door.

Controlling his body, he jumped to the ceiling, crawling and landing precisely toward the two.

Thud~

Thud~

Knocking the two out, he looked at the door before him.

"Found it!"

Opening the door, Nash saw an empty, luxurious office.

"Now, where is the loot~"

Walking slowly, he looked for any valuables in the room.

"Files... Guns... C1 Short Knife?!"

Looking at the gleaming knife, Nash couldn't help but be excited.

Weapons are graded from D-S, numbering 1-5.

A C1 short knife was enough to cut a Void Warrior like hot butter.

If he had had this weapon earlier, he could have killed Elias in one strike.

"Nice!" Sheathing the knife, he continued to look around the room.

Thud~

Suddenly hearing a hollow sound, Nash looked toward the seamless wall.

"A secret storage?"

Not seeing any crevices to access the hidden compartment, Nash took out the C1 Short Knife and smoothly cut open the wall.

Chopping it up, the contents inside were revealed to him.

"Void Crystals!"

As he expected, people who usually do illegal transactions wouldn't usually use cash.

The purchasing power of Arls is too low.

Like the transportation ship out of Earth, the minimum cost would be 10 void crystals, depending on the destination.

There is also the high-grade potion, although priced at 100 million Arls, it was only to estimate its worth.

To buy such a high-grade resource, one would need at least 10-15 void crystals.

"100 Void Crystals, I'm rich!" Counting the void crystals, Nash smiled happily.

God loved him too much.

He had just sold 15 void crystals; now another hundred were sent to his door.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

While enjoying his reverie, Nash heard banging sounds from outside.

"It's here?" Nash muttered, thinking of the unusual baby he found earlier.

Being able to afford high-grade cotton alloy, the baby should have an unusual identity.

Nash even wondered how someone of such high status got kidnapped here.

Hiding the void crystals in his jacket, he picked up all the valuables he could see.

From the two sophisticated guns, a bundle of 100-Arl Bills, an unknown potion, and other trinkets that look expensive.

Looking at his bulging pockets, he had the urge to laugh.

"Stealing from a bandit cave is quite fun~," Nash muttered, walking cautiously outside.
