Chapter 25 - Crimson Pheonix Squad

After Nash left, Camilla cleaned the place as she mulled over Nash's fighting ability.

"That brat, where did he learn such exquisite fighting techniques?"

Since she was a child, Camilla had trained in various fighting skills.

Although she was not too proficient in such a close combat fight, with her reaction ability acquired after becoming a Void Warrior, she should have easily defeated Nash.

Remembering that Nash was only a garbage collector a few months ago, Camilla's doubt increased.

"Could it be he was a spy cultivated by a certain organization? No, it's impossible."

Looking at Nash, who seemed ignorant of the most essential things, he couldn't be a spy.

"Then what is he?"

Suddenly, Camilla remembered that she also had a notoriously talented cousin.

Her cousin seemed born to do great things, which made Camilla doubt if he was a reincarnation of some great being like the ones in the comics.

"It doesn't matter; Nash will be my subordinate from now on!" Camilla laughed in reverie.

---

Meanwhile, after returning home, Nash slumped to the ground.

"It's over; the witch managed to shackle me by the neck..." Nash sighed at the impermanence of the world.

It's not that he didn't want to escape and start anew in another city, but his pride prevented him from doing so.

One of Nash's creeds is to always keep his word.

Nash made a bet with Camilla that he would follow her once she defeated him.

Although Camilla cheated and didn't keep her word, it was a fact that he still lost.

Without using the runic space to overload his body, Nash had no way of winning against Camilla.

"It's because I'm weak..." Nash mused.

Embedded in Nash's mind were various fighting patterns he inherited from his previous life.

Although it still worked in this world, it was only for basic fights.

Once someone used their transcendent strength, Nash's logical analysis would falter, delaying his decision-making to cope with the attack.

At that time, his only solution was to block and minimize injuries.

Feeling his arms still numb, he couldn't help but want to create a combat module system.

Nash didn't have time to slowly analyze the transcendence fighting patterns.

Not only did he lack the information resources to input into his mind, but the work he needed to do was too immense.

To internalize fighting patterns in his mind, he first needed to learn how every technique was executed.

Secondly, he had to familiarize himself with the body's internal anatomy, from how each muscle moves, the trigger mechanism of each attack, the physical limitations, etc.

Finally, Nash had to calculate his opponent's strength, speed, weight, reaction speed, and flexibility.

This is where he was thrown off; with the void energy enhancing his opponent's body, the preprogrammed calculation and response he built upon would malfunction.

To counter a void warrior, Nash had to input new data and calculate the attack trajectory manually; even then, it might not be accurate.

"Just right, the [Training Module System] is about to be completed. I might as well create a combat module while I have time..." Nash decided.

Resting his body, Nash quickly went to the runic space to perfect his [Training Module System].

---

The next day, while Nash was busy with work, his phone rang.

"Who is it, some scammer?" Nash complained, picking up his phone.

Besides his daily supplier, nannies who regularly cleaned the house, and the real estate agent, no one knew his number.

"Huh, Camilla?" Nash muttered as his face darkened.

He thought Camilla was joking when she said she knew his details.

Seeing 'CAMILLA' flashing through his phone, he knew he was doomed.

"What is it this time?" Nash asked lazily.

"That's 'Good morning, Captain' to you!" Camilla shouted, making his ears hurt.

"What is it, Captain?"

"That's better. Anyway, come to the place we went yesterday. I will give you the Crimson Phoenix Squad uniform and some amenities."

"Okay."

Dragging his lazy body, he quickly dressed and drove to the place.

---

Crimson Phoenix Combat Hall:

"Nash, you're here!" Camilla greeted with a smile.

"Hmm," nodding, Nash looked around and saw three other people besides Camilla.

"Guys, this is Nash, the handsome boy I recruited."

"Nice one, Captain; he's just right up my alley," one of the two girls among them commented.

"What a tragedy..." The only man among them looked at Nash with pity.

"Nash, welcome to the team!" the other girl said.

"Nash, this is Amber, the team mechanic!" Camilla said, pointing to the lively girl with a petite body and short hair.

"This is Emily, the team medic," Camilla said, pointing to the second girl with a silent temperament and a plump body.

"Finally, this is Hector. He was our scout, but mainly attended to the squad's miscellaneous things." Camilla said, pointing at Hector, who looked like a middle-aged man from the mines.

"Hello, I'm Nash. Pleased to work with you," Nash greeted.

After mingling for a while and taking note of each of their personalities, Camilla dragged him to the storage room of the base.

"This is a D1 combat suit, the staple of the team. This is the basic void breathing manual. As for the weapons, you can choose them yourself," Camilla said, giving him a suit and a thick book.

First, seeing the D1 combat suit, he couldn't help but feel emotional.

The combat suit they used yesterday was merely an ungraded combat suit, yet it could completely block a fatal attack from a void warrior.

Meanwhile, this D1 combat suit was on another level; it could completely protect the user from all void warrior attacks as long as it had energy.

Nash had heard that this thing cost 100 million arls, and needed connections to buy them.

As for the breathing manual, reading the introduction, he couldn't help but feel excited.

Most of those who embark on the transcendence path only passively absorb void energy.

Training their body until it is exhausted, the void energy in the void crystal will automatically circulate in their body.

Meanwhile, this basic void breathing manual lets one actively absorb the energy in the void crystals.

Using the unique breathing rhythm, the body would vibrate at a frequency close to the void energy.

With the body's harmonization with the void energy, one's training would be 3-5 times more effective than average.

"Don't be too happy; you better familiarize yourself with the squad. We will go on our first task in a week," Camilla said, smiling at him.

"I knew it..."
