Chapter 27 - Mission Target

Soon, the Crimson Phoenix Squad departed.

Passing through multiple checkpoints managed by the Crimson Gang, they had a smooth journey.

The flying car was also unimpeded, traveling ten thousand miles without crashing or stalling.

A day later, they arrive at the Atral State Border.

"We are about to cross the Atral State Border. Be prepared,"

Until now, they hadn't encountered any danger because the Crimson Gang guarded the route they had been traveling.

Moving into Eastdam State, it was an unknown territory for them.

Soon after driving a few hundred miles, they were stopped by bandits on the road asking for a toll fee.

Just as they were about to throw some money, the bandit leader, Red Wolf, urged them to hand over the money personally.

"How could I know if you threw bombs instead of money?" Red Wolf reasoned.

Not wanting to cause trouble on someone else's turf, Camilla took out a stack of million arls in cash and handed it to Amber.

"Amber, you pay the money; Nash, you join her."

"Yes, Captain!"

Nodding, they took some weapons and disembarked from the flying car.

"Here is your money, one million arls," Amber said, looking at them with a disgust expression.

"One million arls? Do you think we are beggars? We only accept void crystals here! What do you think of ten void crystals?" Red Wolf asked with a smile.

Seeing that they easily paid the money, he concluded they were rich and easy to fool.

"Are you kidding me? Just you?" Amber snorted, taking out a gun.

"Easy there, lady. We are here to negotiate," Red Wolf said, not taking Amber seriously.

Although she was not yet an official Void Warrior, she was already at a 9 percent saturation rate.

With his reaction speed, dodging some bullets was not a problem.

"Hmph! Captain, may I have permission to kill?" Amber said, not wanting to deal with any more nonsense.

"Kill," Camilla said simply over the intercom.

Bang~

"You bitch!" Seeing Amber really dared to shoot, Red Wolf quickly dodged and signaled his subordinates to give them hell.

"Troublesome..." Observing the whole charade, Nash quickly took out two pistols and dealt with all the lackeys behind Red Wolf.

Bang~

Bang~

Bang~

Holding two pistols, Nash took down over 20 bandits in just a few seconds, leaving only Red Wolf alive.

"Should I also take him out?" Nash asked Amber.

"You—You devils! I—I—"

Bang~

"No, it's my prey," Amber said, blowing the smoke from her gun.

Although she was the team mechanic, Amber was also at a 9% saturation rate, just short of becoming a Void Warrior.

"Oh," Seeing that the bandits had already been wiped out, Nash quickly went on a looting spree.

Patting down the dead bodies around, Nash found money, weapons, healing potions, and some trinkets that weren't worth much.

"There isn't even a void crystal? Tsk, what a bunch of poor bastards," Nash muttered as he returned to the car.

"Is he always like this?" Hector asked, looking at Nash's behavior.

Looting even a bandit, Hector felt a little ashamed.

Their combat suits were worth 100 million arls, and the weapons they carried were worth tens of millions each.

The bullets Nash fired were probably more expensive than the entire net worth of these bandits.

"Uh, it's probably a habit..." Camilla replied, thinking of Nash's previous situation.

Picking trash in a garbage dump and looting some bandits was probably not much different.

Seeing the others looking at him, Nash scratched his face in embarrassment.

"My hands didn't know where to put themselves," Nash said, trying to ease the awkwardness.

"I already have hundreds of millions of arls in my account; a little money shouldn't matter!" Nash secretly jeered at himself.

"Anyway, this wouldn't cause trouble, right, Captain?" Nash quickly shifted their attention.

"I don't know. Those old guys didn't even give me information about the distribution of forces in Eastdam State. We are practically moving in blind now,"

"What a bastard!" Amber and Emily complained.

"Just drive safely. I will handle all the trouble on the way,"

Soon after a few hours of driving, they encountered more reckless bandits on the road.

This time, Camilla no longer had patience and instructed them to kill on sight.

As long as there were no Void Warriors on the road, Camilla didn't worry about any problems.

After a few days of a hectic journey, encountering various troubles along the way, they finally arrived in Lonoll City.

"Where should we meet our client, Captain?"

"In Green Creek Forest, in the suburbs of Lonoll City."

Navigating the area, Hector quickly drove the car to Green Creek Forest.

"Captain, I don't see the target anywhere," Hector said after driving in circles.

"He should be hiding. Look a little more carefully!"

Unfortunately, after a few hours of driving, Hector still found nothing.

"That rich boy is such an expert at hiding! Even a scout like me could be fooled,"

"Maybe he's not here at all," Nash commented.

While driving, Nash also looked at the area. Finding no artificial signs in the forest, Nash concluded Lloyd still hadn't arrived.

"That's possible!"

Widening his search range, they finally heard gunfire across the prairie land.

"That's our client, Lloyd!" Hector shouted, driving faster.

---

A little while earlier.

After receiving the message from the Crimson Phoenix Squad, Lloyd quickly packed up and headed to the meeting place.

Unfortunately, it seemed his itinerary had been leaked, causing him to be ambushed on the way.

"Damn, Brother! I'm leaving the family, and you still won't let me go?!" Lloyd muttered angrily while escaping the pursuit.

Although he didn't have much combat ability, he was rich.

Wearing a B1 Combat Suit, his speed was comparable to a Void Warrior.

After escaping a few hundred miles away, Lloyd noticed the energy of his combat suit was running low.

"This is bad!" Looking at the pursuers closing in, he felt a sense of dread.

Soon, the combat suit ran out of energy, leaving him sluggish and tired

Running a few more miles, Lloyd was on the verge of fainting when he finally saw hope.

A car with a Crimson emblem came into view!

"You're finally here..." Lloyd thought as he passed out.
